Launch a coin. Pick its plague. Watch it evolve.
Launch a coin, pick its plague type, and watch it evolve as it earns fees. Every hour, the coin that spread the fastest gets bought and burned with everyone else's fees.
1 · Pick a plague type
2 · Its holders are its infected
Every strain's holders are its infected. A holder counts once their tokens are worth at least $5. A wallet's token accounts are added up first, so splitting tokens across accounts doesn't count twice. Only real wallets count: the bonding curve, the PumpSwap pool, LP and vault accounts, the outbreak wallet and burned tokens are left out. Counts are taken every 5 minutes for every strain that traded in the last 2 hours.
New infected this hour is the net change: the count now minus the count at the top of the hour. A holder who sells, or whose tokens drop under the minimum, counts against it. World infected on the map adds up every strain's infected, so a wallet holding three strains counts three times.
3 · The hourly outbreak buy
- At the top of every hour, the strain that gained the most new infected during the hour that just ended wins. The closing count and the next hour's starting count are the same snapshot.
- To be eligible, it needs at least $3,000 of volume and 25 unique buyers that hour, and more infected than at the start of the hour. Buys by the outbreak wallet itself (powers and outbreak buys) don't count toward volume or buyers. Ties go to the higher volume.
- A strain that hasn't traded for 2 hours isn't being counted. When it trades again, its first new count is its starting point for that hour, so whatever changed while it was quiet doesn't count as spreading.
- The outbreak pool buys it, up to 5 SOL (keeping 0.02 SOL in reserve), and burns every token it bought. Whatever isn't spent rolls into the next hour.
- If nothing is eligible, nothing is bought and the pool rolls over. Every hour's result, with its transactions, is on Outbreaks.
- Each hour's buy runs at most once and is retried at most twice. If it still fails, the pool rolls over.
4 · It evolves as it earns fees
A strain evolves by its lifetime creator fees. Each stage makes its power fire more often and hit harder. A power only fires when its war chest holds at least 0.05 SOL; until then it waits for fees.
How each power fires
- Bacteria, Virus, Parasite run on a timer, counted from their last fire (or from launch). A fire that comes late isn't made up: the timer restarts from it.
- Fungus fires once per dip: when its price in SOL falls its stage's percentage below the highest price since launch. After a fire it waits for a new price peak before it can fire again, and always at least 15 minutes. A new high counts once two price readings a minute apart reach it, so a one-minute spike doesn't move the peak.
- Virus pays the top 100 infected holders in proportion to what they hold. A share under 0.001 SOL is carried to that holder's next payout.
- Parasite draws one of the top 100 infected holders, weighted by holding: twice the tokens is twice the chance, not one wallet one ticket. The draw is seeded by a recent Solana blockhash and logged. If the payout fails, the same host is paid on the retry.
- A fire that fails is retried after 15 minutes, up to three times, then waits for its next turn. A fire's network fees come out of the same war chest. Every fire links to its transaction in the strain's power log.
5 · Where the fees go
Every strain's pump.fun creator fees are split on chain when it launches: 25% straight to the launcher, 75% to the outbreak wallet. The split's admin is revoked in the same transaction, so nobody can ever change it. The outbreak wallet's share is booked as:
The war chest is spent only by that strain's own power. The outbreak pool is spent only by the hourly buy, and pays that buy's network fees. The $GERM share buys $GERM on the open market and burns it, once at least 0.1 SOL is waiting. Strains are paired with SOL, because the war chests, the pool and every power run on SOL.
pump.fun pays creator fees out to every shareholder at once, and anyone can trigger that payout: the outbreak wallet does every few minutes, and a launcher claiming on pump.fun does too. Every payout that reaches the outbreak wallet is booked this way, whoever sent it.
The outbreak wallet
Claims, buys, burns and payouts are run by a server wallet, the outbreak wallet (–). Its key is encrypted at rest and never leaves the server. Every transaction it signs is checked against this list and simulated on mainnet first. Anything else is refused:
- claiming creator fees for a strain listed here (pump.fun's permissionless claim, which pays every shareholder, launchers included);
- buying a listed strain, or $GERM;
- burning tokens it bought, and closing its own empty token accounts;
- paying SOL to a strain's infected holders from that strain's war chest (Virus and Parasite);
- paying network fees.
There is no withdraw path in the code. Every power fire, hourly buy and burn links to its transaction. Each buy is recorded before it's sent: if a run is cut off or a buy can't be confirmed, the next run checks the chain first, so a buy is never repeated.
Patient zero and the map
Each strain starts spreading from one of 200 world cities, picked by hashing its coin address. The same coin always lands in the same city. The map is a game board: a strain's dots grow with its infected count, not with where its holders actually are. Rings show its stage: one at Outbreak, a bigger glow at Epidemic, a second ring at Pandemic, and a dark-red pulse at Extinction.
